The coffin industry
The German coffin industry is made up of small to medium-sized businesses, which are specialised in the industrial production, import of and trade with coffins. They primarily use indigenous woods, whereby not only softwood, especially pine, but also hardwood, especially oak, are worked. The "Coffins made of solid wood" trade association is an organisation of more than 30 producers of solid wooden coffins, who represent 70 % of the industry's sales.
