The Federal Association of Interiorwork, Unitised and Off-Site Construction (Bundesverband Innenausbau, Element- und Fertigbau e.V. - bief) is the federation that represents the interests of high-quality and efficient interior finishes companies and installers. Organised under the umbrella of the Main Association of the German Wood Industry, the Federal Association of Interiorwork is at hand to assist its member companies with economic policy, technical, professional, social and collective bargaining policy issues.
The interiorwork industry
When the building shell is finished the interiorwork can begin. The simplest solution for the client is for all interiorwork to come from a single source. Complete, all-round service in interiorwork includes consulting, planning & design, as well as execution of all trades. Interiorwork includes: Ceiling and wall coverings, floor laying, erection of partition walls, plumbing work, interior doors, fire safety concepts, electrical installation. Around 250 companies in the woodworking industry with a total sales volume of approx. € 2 bln are organised in the area of interiorwork, fitout, shopfitting, trade fair construction and off-site wood construction.
